ABOUT LILY

Lily Dunlop was born in Portland, Oregon and graduated from the University of Oregon School of Journalism and Communication in 2012. She moved to Seattle in 2014 where she worked as a preschool teacher in a community center. During those years, Lily read hundreds of children's books and discovered what kinds of stories were important and impactful. As the years progressed, she began to create humorous and inspiring books to add to the modern family's bookshelf.

Lily has been an active member of SCBWI (Western Washington Chapter) since 2016 and has written several picture books and a YA novel. She is currently working on new picture books, a second YA novel, and a collection of poems on Instagram @smallgirlbigstory. Lily is a proud mother, activist, Latina, and advocate for mental health; all of which influence the elements of emotional literacy, representation, humor, healing, and whimsical delight found in her work.

Lily currently lives in Seattle, WA with her husband, Patrick, their young sons, Emmett & Hugh, and their standard poodle, Noah Verde.
